Knit the perfect beanie for your man!

Hello all! xoxo

With the fall season rapidly approaching, I wanted to knit something for my boyfriend. He likes beanies so I wanted to find the perfect pattern for him. I came across one on www.lionbrand.com and it was PERFECT!!

For this project, I used:
- 1 skein of wool-ease thick and quick. It is size 6 - super bulky yarn. It was 9 dollars for the skein, a little pricey but it is super soft and warm!!
- size 11 29-inch circular knitting needles

The exact pattern can be found at http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/kff-chemoCap.html

I followed the pattern for casting on 40 stitches

Cast on 40 stitches. Join and place marker for beginning of round.
Knit every round (stockinette stitch) until Hat measures 7 inches [18 cm] from beginning.
Begin crown shaping as follows:
Round 1 *Knit 8, knit 2 together; repeat from the * to end – 36 stitches.
Round 2 Knit.
Round 3 *Knit 7, knit 2 together; repeat from the * to end – 32 stitches.
Round 4 Knit.
Round 5 *Knit 6, knit 2 together; repeat from the * to end – 28stitches.
Round 6 *Knit 5, knit 2 together; repeat from the * to end – 24 stitches.
Round 7 *Knit 4, knit 2 together; repeat from the * to end – 20 stitches.
Round 8 *Knit 3, knit 2 together; repeat from the * to end – 16 stitches.
(Large size only) Next Round *Knit 2, knit 2 together; repeat from the * to end – 12 stitches.
Next Round *Knit 2 together; repeat from the * to end – 6 stitches.
Next Round *Knit 2 together; repeat from the * to end – 3 stitches.
Knit 2 (3) together. Fasten off.
Cut yarn. Draw yarn tail through last remaining stitch using large-eyed, blunt needle and tighten. Weave in ends
In the end, my beanie looked like this!

It fits exactly how a beanie is meant to fit - tight to the head but very warm!! It stretches and fits over the ears if you follow the pattern. My boyfriend looked very handsome in it and for girls it works well too!!

Happy Knitting!! xoxo

Knit Infinity Scarf

Thanks to the cold weather in Western NY, I have a huge scarf collection. My favorite scarf has been a knit infinity scarf I purchased from forever21. I always thought about knitting and decided to give it a try! I was very encouraged to find out most scarfs can be knit using just 1 skein = so so cheap!!

My first knitting project was an infinity scarf. It didn't come out exactly as planned since I accidentally twisted the stitches on my circular needles. However, it is warm and I love it!!

I used size 3 (worsted weight) yarn and 10.5 (29) circular knitting needles. I cast on around 300 stitches and did garter stitch for the entire pattern (knit stitch every stitch).

Happy knitting!! xoxo
